Maroons 6th at Centennial Tournament

The Maroons finished 6th out of 16 teams at the Centennial Tournament on September 4, 2010.  Central started strong with a two set victory, 25-21, 25-16, over St. Thomas More, ranked #4 in the NG area top 10.  Then came the heart breaker of the weekend against LaGrange  Nazareth.  The Maroons took the first game, 25-23 and lost the second, 19-25.  In the third game, Central fell behind midway through, but rallied to take a 14-12 lead and seemed in command, but couldn't close the game out and lost 14-16.  Nazareth finished second in the tournament, losing in the Championship game to Centennial. Central finished pool play by beating East Peoria, 25-18, 25-19.  In the Silver bracket, Central advanced with a 25-18, 25-18 win against Clinton, but ran out of gas against a solid Bloomington Central Catholic team, 17-25, 14-25.  Esther Kemper was named to the All Tournament team.
