For info on Fees, Concessions, and Volunteering see the Booster Page Maroons 6th at Centennial Tournament The Maroons finished 6th out of 16 teams at the Centennial Tournament on September 4, 2010. Central started strong with a two set victory, 25-21, 25-16, over St. Thomas More, ranked #4 in the NG area top 10. Then came the heart breaker of the weekend against LaGrange Nazareth. The Maroons took the first game, 25-23 and lost the second, 19-25. In the third game, Central fell behind midway through, but rallied to take a 14-12 lead and seemed in command, but couldn't close the game out and lost 14-16. Nazareth finished second in the tournament, losing in the Championship game to Centennial. Central finished pool play by beating East Peoria, 25-18, 25-19. In the Silver bracket, Central advanced with a 25-18, 25-18 win against Clinton, but ran out of gas against a solid Bloomington Central Catholic team, 17-25, 14-25. Esther Kemper was named to the All Tournament team. Central
will host the Champaign Central JV Volleyball Invite at Combes Gym on
Saturday, September 4. Schedule Volley for the Cure-Pink Shirts Central High School Volleyball will host a Volley for the Cure match versus Centennial High School on September 28. The Freshmen will play at 5:00 pm in Combes Gym, followed by JV at 6:00 and Varsity at 7:00. If you ordered t-shirts, Julia George will be contacting you to arrange for delivery and payment. Highlights for Central included, ranking at 8th in the areas N-G Top Ten, Audrey Aeilts, Esther Kemper, and Alex Pelmore in the Nifty 50, coaches' pick for 5th in the Big 12 Conference, Esther Kemper coaches' pick as top returning defensive player in the Big 12, and a short article on Central with an interview with Kylie. of water and snacks
for the concessions stand are being accepted. You can drop them off before or
after practice. This helps offset costs for the Boosters. Also, we are
accepting donations of kneepads and socks. The practice schedule for this year will be Mondays, 5:30-7:30 p.m., and Tuesday thru Friday, 3:30-6:00pm Booster Club Updates
